Who We're Looking For Bailey & Galyen is looking for a passionate and highly motivated and experienced Personal Injury Law Medical Records Clerk for our Bedford office. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Personal Injury team by overseeing medical record requests. They should have experience requesting medical records from various medical providers. Ideally the candidate will have previous experience in prelitigation or healthcare industry in a role handling medical records and/or bills. This role will also set up claims for new clients with insurance companies, in addition to ordering and verifying medical billing and records for cases. What You'll Be Doing Communicate immediately with the respective insurance carrier to set up claims within the first 24-48 hours. Gather relative information from clients & police reports. Send off letters of representation, letters of protection, welcome letters and withdraw packets as necessary. Transcribe information that we get from the client/insurance company into our Needles software. Order medical bills & records, set up subrogation with the respective insurance companies, & verify balances. Track the progress of medical record requests; Ensure follow-ups to medical providers regarding requests are sent in a timely manner; Notify the managing attorney when a request needs to be escalated for assistance in retrieving records; and Any other tasks necessary to ensure the timely acquisition of medical records and bills. What You Bring Individual must be detail oriented, able to multi-task, with strong analytical and organizational skills. Professional and pleasant, positive demeanor. Willingness to learn, grow and be an effective team player. Highly organized with ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to be empathetic. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe & Needles preferred.
