Job Overview We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clerk 1 - Criminal to join our legal team. This vital role involves supporting criminal law proceedings through efficient administrative and clerical tasks, ensuring smooth courtroom operations, and maintaining accurate legal records. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong research abilities, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of procedural law. Duties Assist with legal research related to criminal cases, including statutes, case law, and procedural requirements Prepare and draft legal documents, reports, and correspondence with precision and clarity Manage legal case files through meticulous filing, data entry, and document management using Microsoft Office and specialized case management software Support courtroom procedures by organizing case materials, scheduling hearings, and coordinating with court personnel Handle confidential information with the utmost discretion, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations Perform clerical tasks such as typing, photocopying, scanning, and maintaining organized records of legal documents Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries from attorneys, court staff, and the public in a professional manner Skills Strong research skills in legal databases and procedural law Paralegal or litigation experience preferred but not required; relevant office experience is essential Proficiency in legal drafting, Word processing, and data entry within Microsoft Office suite Knowledge of courtroom procedures and legal terminology to support criminal proceedings effectively Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information responsibly with integrity Strong writing skills for preparing clear reports and correspondence Effective communication skills for interacting with colleagues, court officials, and clients Ability to perform clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, typing accurately at a fast pace, and managing court-related documentation Experience in legal case management systems is advantageous but not mandatory Familiarity with procedural law, legal terminology, and courtroom procedures enhances performance in this role Join us in this dynamic position where your administrative expertise will directly support the pursuit of justice.
