This is an excellent opportunity for motivated candidates seeking an entry-level law enforcement career . No previous law enforcement experience is required. Selected recruits receive paid training and attend the 27-week Alameda County Sheriff's Office Training Academy to prepare for a career as a Deputy Sheriff.
Starting salary:
$104,312 per year, plus a $10,000 hiring bonus. What You'll Learn and Do As a Deputy Sheriff Recruit, you will train to: Protect and serve the Alameda County community Respond to emergencies and calls for service Learn patrol procedures and law-enforcement operations Enforce local, state, and federal laws Conduct investigations and gather information Prepare clear and accurate reports Develop the physical, tactical, and professional skills needed to become a Deputy Sheriff Minimum Qualifications Applicants must: Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent Be at least 21 years old at the time of appointment to Deputy Sheriff I Possess a valid California driver's license by the time of appointment Be legally authorized to work in the United States Have no felony convictions Pass the required Physical Abilities Test (PAT) Pass a comprehensive background investigation Pass psychological and medical evaluations Meet the required physical fitness, vision, and hearing standards Hiring and Training Process Qualified candidates will complete the following steps: Submit an interest form Complete the pre-screening survey Pass the PELLETB written examination and Physical Agility Test Submit the official employment application Complete an interview Complete the background investigation Pass psychological and medical examinations Attend 7-8 weeks of pre-academy training Attend the 27-week paid training academy Begin your career as an
