Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as the Chief of Police, responsible for overseeing all law enforcement operations within the jurisdiction. This pivotal role involves guiding police personnel, ensuring community safety, enforcing laws and ordinances, and maintaining public trust. The Chief of Police will develop policies, manage resources, and foster collaboration with community stakeholders to create a safe and secure environment for all residents and visitors. Responsibilities Lead and manage the entire police department, setting strategic priorities aligned with community needs and law enforcement best practices Oversee daily operations including patrol, investigations, traffic enforcement, community outreach, and administrative functions Develop and implement policies that adhere to legal standards such as procedural law, evidence law, search and seizure law, criminal law, and local ordinances Supervise personnel by providing leadership, mentorship, performance evaluations, and ensuring ongoing training in areas such as use of force, conflict management, CPR, first aid protocols, firearms handling in law enforcement, surveillance techniques, and physical conditioning Coordinate with external agencies on criminal investigations, traffic laws enforcement, immigration law issues, loss prevention efforts, animal handling protocols, and security initiatives Ensure compliance with all legal requirements including criminal procedure and procedural law while maintaining high standards of integrity and accountability Manage departmental resources efficiently; oversee report writing processes related to incidents, arrests, investigations, and departmental activities Foster positive relationships with the community through outreach programs and transparent communication to build trust and cooperation Qualifications Extensive experience in law enforcement or military service with demonstrated leadership capabilities Proven knowledge of criminal investigation procedures, arrest procedures, search and seizure law, evidence law, traffic laws, local ordinances, criminal procedure, procedural law knowledge, animal handling (if applicable), immigration law (if applicable), fire arms handling in law enforcement scenarios Strong background in report writing with attention to detail and accuracy Physical conditioning sufficient for demanding patrol duties and tactical operations Valid driver's license with experience operating standard passenger cars; ability to conduct surveillance operations effectively Certifications or training in CPR and first aid; use of force training; conflict management; search warrants; evidence collection; security protocols; loss prevention strategies; animal care (if applicable) Excellent leadership skills combined with effective communication abilities to motivate teams and engage the community positively Join us as we uphold safety standards while fostering a secure environment rooted in integrity.
