The Lucas County Sheriff's Office has a Deputy Sheriff's position open. We are seeking both certified and non-certified candidates. Lateral transfers are welcome and pay/vacation will be based on experience. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Civil Service testing will be conducted at the Lucas County Law Center 48559 Hy-Vee Road, Chariton, IA, at a date to be determined. All applicants will be contacted by phone to discuss the specifics of Civil Service testing dates and procedure. Certified applicants may be exempt from the physical agility and Post testing. Base pay ranges from $32.03 -$33.83/hr. All applicants will be required to meet the minimum standards for employment as a peace officer in accordance with Iowa law.
