Job Description

Thorough knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of Kansas criminal statutes and applicable federal laws. Ability to supervise, motivate, develop, and evaluate employees. Ability to analyze situations and make sound decisions during emergencies. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prepare and review reports accurately. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and law enforcement records management systems. Ability to maintain positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community partners. Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergency call-outs. Ability to meet all physical requirements necessary to perform law enforcement duties. Must possess and maintain a valid Kansas driver's license. Must be 21 years of age. Must successfully complete required departmental supervisory Kansas Certified Law Enforcement Officer in good standing. Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience. Some prior leadership experience (supervisory, lead, FTO, or specialized assignment) is required.
