Police Response Advocate On-Call Riley County and Junction City

Police Response Advocates (PRAs) are "on-call" to respond to domestic violence scenes alongside law enforcement. PRAs meet with survivors of domestic violence to assist in safety planning and crisis intervention. PRA shifts are 5pm-8am, Monday-Friday; and 8am-5pm and 5pm-8am Saturday and Sunday. Scheduling is flexible and based on your availability. PRAs must be willing to work at least 4 shifts per pay period (every 15 days), work some weekend and holiday shifts, have reliable transportation, and pass a background check. PRAs are able to go about their day/night as long as they stay in town and are able to respond promptly to a call. The number of calls each shift varies greatly - some shifts there are no calls and others there may be 3 - 5 calls.

Specific Duties:

Respond immediately to domestic violence crime scenes in Junction City when called by dispatch/ law enforcement during shift. Provide on-scene crisis intervention and safety planning services to victims. Complete required documentation and deliver to PRA Coordinator. Attend quarterly PRA meetings.
