Chief of Police, La Cynge Police Department Chief of Police, La Cynge Police Department 08/13/2026 8:49 AM The City of La Cygne, Kansas is seeking an experienced, community-focused law enforcement professional to serve as its next Chief of Police. La Cygne is a growing community of approximately 1,050 residents located just south of the Kansas City metropolitan area. The city is committed to supporting its Police Department through modern equipment, innovative technology, and a philosophy of community-oriented policing.
Position Highlights Starting Salary:
$60,320 annually (DOE) 4 Full-Time Sworn Officers Up to 3 Part-Time Officers Modern Patrol Fleet Updated Records Management System (RMS) Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) System Axon Body-Worn Cameras Axon TASER Devices Modern technology and equipment Community-oriented policing philosophy Supportive community Minimum Qualifications Minimum five (5) years of sworn law enforcement experience. Patrol experience required. Investigative experience preferred. Kansas law enforcement certification, or the ability to obtain Kansas certification. Valid driver's license. Must establish residence within a 20-minute drive time of the City of La Cygne within a timeframe established by City policy. Demonstrated leadership, sound judgment, and excellent communication skills. Desired Leadership Qualities Leads with integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
