08/12/2026 11:09 AM The City of Harper is looking for a law-enforcement professional wo values integrity, community relationships and the important role public safety plays in small town life. This is an opportunity to serve in a community where officers are more than responders - they are visible partners who know the people they protect, build trust through everday interactions and help preserve the sense of safety that makes small-town living so desirable. We are seeking a dependable, community-minded individual who will exercise sound judgement, treat people with fairness and respect and take pride in serving Harper. Depending on the selected candidates qualifications, experience and leadership abilities, the position may be filled at the rank of Police Sergeant. Applicants must have a high school diploma/GED and meet the certification requirements of the Kansas Law Enforcement Traning Center. One to three years of law enforcement experience is preferred for Police Officer Candidates. Sergeant candidates must have at least five years of law-enforcement experience and demonstrate strong leadership, communication and supervisory skills. Wage range : $20.22 - $32.31 per hour, depending on qualifications and appointment. Harper DOES have a residency requirement. Applications are available at City Hall, 201 W.
