Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Civilian Cadet supports the daily operations of the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office. This position requires completion of a medical examination, drug screening, and a comprehensive background investigation. Successful candidates must be able to understand, retain, and apply agency rules, regulations, policies, and security procedures. They must also be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel, possess strong computer literacy, and maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Evidence Sergeant with daily evidence room tasks. Assist the Quartermaster Sergeant with issuing uniforms and gear. Participate in annual and semi-annual evidence room inventories. Retrieve and transport evidence between the Sheriff's Office and the Crime Lab. Answer incoming calls, provide information, or direct callers to appropriate personnel. Maintain and update various records and information systems. Perform related duties as assigned.
