Job Description

The County of Ontonagon is seeking applicants to fill the unexpired term of Ontonagon County Sheriff per State Statute (MCL 168.209 & MCL 201.35). The Sheriff's term of office expires on 12/31/2028. Per State election law

MCL 168.209

(3), the County Sheriff's regular term will be held on the August 8th, 2028 Primary Election and the November 7th, 2028 General Election. Legal and constitutional requirements for the office of Sheriff dictate that the applicant must be a qualified elector of the County of Ontonagon and cannot hold any other office.
