Job Description

The St. Charles County Sheriff's Department will be looking for one fall intern. The individual selected will preferably be able to work 24 hours per week. The work schedule will be for 13 to 14 weeks during the Fall. This position will run from September to December 2026.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The St. Charles County Sheriff's Department is seeking to provide a student with an environment that will reinforce their coursework and provide knowledge of law enforcement, criminal justice, and other related areas. The purpose of this program is to familiarize the student with the various units within the Sheriff's department, allowing students to get quality hands-on experience while also providing an opportunity to explore a career with the agency. The intern will rotate between department divisions as needed, such as court services, field services, and civil process. The intern may also assist with a variety of general office support tasks, such as data entry, filing, and organizing, as well as complete ride-alongs. Will perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Seeking a college student currently enrolled in criminal justice, criminology, law enforcement, or another related program. Must possess skill in the use of personal computers and programs, including Microsoft Excel and Word. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Requires attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions. Must have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record. The intern chosen must pass a criminal background check without felony or misdemeanor arrests or convictions on their record, as well as a drug test.
