POLICE RECORDS MANAGER

Duties:
Essential responsibilities and duties may include, but not limited to the following: Analyze and appraise records series to determine retention standards based on administrative, legal, fiscal and historical guidelines; Participate in the development of the work plan for records management; Analyze and appraise records as it relates to retention standards; Research laws, rules and regulations to determine the maintenance, preservation and position requirements for records retention; Assist in the preparation of the records management budget; participate in the forecast of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; monitor and approve expenditures; administer the approved budget; Participate in recommending the appointment of personnel; provide or coordinate staff training; evaluate employee performance; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures.
Qualifications:
Six years of increasingly responsible experience in police records management, including two years of supervisory responsibility. Equivalent to an Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in records management or a related field.
PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT, APPLICANT RECOMMENDED FOR EMPLOYMENT SHALL BE REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS A URINALYSIS AND/OR BLOOD TEST TO SCREEN FOR ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUG ABUSE.

" Direct, manage, supervise, and coordinate thw ooperation of the Police Record Unit, including coordination of preparation and dissemination of police, reports, to coordinate police records activities with other divisions, outside agencies, and the general public, and to provide highly responsible administrative support within the Police Department. Exeriw direct supervision over supervisory and clerical staff. Manage the processing and maintenance of police reports, records and official documents for the police department, ensure compliance with applicable laws, standards and regulations. Other duties as assigned.
Experience:

Triaining:
