- Go to: https://madison-portal.mycivilservice.com/) Madison County Sheriff's Office seeks Special Patrol Officers responsible for maintaining order and providing security primarily at Cazenovia Middle School and is seeking to fill a vacant Special Patrol Officer position with hours ranging between 7:30 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. dependent upon the daily scheduled events. Persons employed in this class shall have all the powers of a peace officer, as set forth in section 2.20 of Criminal Procedure Law, when performing the duties of protecting property or persons on such premises. The work is performed under general supervision of the Sheriff. The incumbent does related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
: Retired member of a police or sheriff's office, or division of state police, or retired former corrections, parole or probation officer.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
: Possession of a valid New York State driver's license at the time of appointment and maintenance of said license for the duration of appointment. 2026

$33.57/hour EOE
