Job Summary The chief of police is a full-time position. Salary is dependent on experience. The Chief plans, organizes and directs the activities of the Police Department in law enforcement and crime prevention. This is a working Chief position. Any combination of training and experience that provided the required knowledge, skill and abilities is qualifying; typical education, but is not required, would include a BS/BA in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Criminal Justice. Typical experience would include five years of relevant progressively responsible command/management experience in a law enforcement agency. Must possess a Utah POST Certificate. Must possess a valid Utah drivers license and have an acceptable driving record. Must sign a waiver for East Carbon City to obtain ALL information from previous employers. Must pass a background check and drug tests.
