What You'll Actually DoThis isn't sitting behind a desk all day. As a Deputy Sheriff, you'll rotate through different assignments so your job stays interesting, challenging, and rewarding.

Requirements:

Must be a citizen of the United States. Requires an acceptable background check and acceptable credit check. Meet all federal, state and local requirements to carry a firearm. Have never been dishonorably discharged from any of the armed forces of the United States. Requires a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record. Have a High School Diploma or GED Certificate. The Newport News Sheriff's Office has one of the BEST Salary and Benefits packages for our Deputies and their family in Hampton Roads.
