Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated law enforcement team as a Sheriff's Deputy, where you will play a vital role in maintaining public safety, enforcing laws, and serving our community with integrity and professionalism. Responsibilities Patrol designated areas to deter crime, enforce traffic laws, and ensure public safety through visible presence and proactive engagement. Respond swiftly to emergency calls, accidents, and incidents, providing first aid when necessary and coordinating with emergency services. Conduct criminal investigations by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses and suspects, and preparing detailed reports in accordance with procedural law. Execute arrest procedures lawfully while respecting individual rights, utilizing appropriate use of force training when needed. Maintain surveillance operations to monitor suspicious activity and support ongoing investigations. Write comprehensive reports documenting incidents, arrests, and investigations with clarity and accuracy for legal proceedings. Enforce local ordinances, traffic laws, criminal law statutes, immigration regulations, animal control laws, and other applicable legal frameworks. Operate standard passenger vehicles safely during patrols and respond promptly to various situations requiring driving skills. Handle firearms responsibly in accordance with law enforcement protocols and participate in ongoing use of force training sessions. Manage search and seizure procedures lawfully while respecting constitutional rights related to evidence law and criminal procedure. Engage in conflict management techniques to de-escalate tense situations effectively while ensuring safety for all parties involved. Conduct security checks at public events or facilities as needed; assist with loss prevention or security tasks when required. Support community outreach initiatives by building positive relationships with residents and local organizations. Qualifications Proven ability to operate a standard passenger car safely under various conditions; valid driver's license required. Demonstrated knowledge of traffic laws, criminal law experience, procedural law knowledge, evidence law, search and seizure law, and criminal procedure. Prior experience or training in law enforcement activities such as arrest procedures, criminal investigation techniques, conflict management, use of force protocols, firearms handling in law enforcement settings, first aid protocols (including CPR), surveillance operations, report writing skills, and first aid certification (including CPR). Physical conditioning sufficient to meet the demands of patrol duties including standing for long periods, running if necessary, and performing physically demanding tasks. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to work independently or as part of a team under stressful situations. Knowledge of animal handling procedures; experience with animal care is a plus. Familiarity with local ordinances, immigration laws (if applicable), fire safety regulations, security practices, and loss prevention strategies is desirable. Military background or prior law enforcement training highly valued; relevant certifications are a plus. Join us in making a difference every day! Pay:
$18.50 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 42.0 per week
