Job Description
Ensures the safety and wellbeing of citizens within the City of Plant City. Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for service. Protects life and property. Performs duties to uphold the US Constitution and the Laws set forth by the State of Florida.

Provides for public safety by maintaining order, responding to emergencies, protecting people and property, enforcing motor vehicle and criminal laws, and promoting good community relations. Questions and interviews individuals or observe persons and establishments to confirm information given to patrol officers. Monitors, notes, reports, and investigates suspicious persons and situations, safety hazards, and unusual or illegal activity in patrol area. Drives vehicles or patrols specific areas to detect law violators, issues citations, and makes arrests. Participates or assists in raids and arrests. Apprehends felons. Collects and records physical information about arrested suspects, including fingerprints, height and weight measurements, and photographs. Secures evidence. Executes arrest warrants, locating and taking persons into custody. Prepares report of findings of investigation. Analyzes information gathered by investigation, and report findings and recommendations. Testifies in court or at administrative proceedings concerning investigation findings. Acts as a liaison to an area wide intelligence community. Investigates minor crimes and major violent crimes. Investigates other crimes when the case load backs up to include theft, fraud and all property crimes. Other duties may be assigned as dictated by operational necessity. High school diploma or possession of an acceptable equivalent diploma.Certificates and Licenses :
Florida State Law Enforcement Certification. Valid Florida Driver's License and be insurable by the City's current insurance provider.
