$52,000.00 - $69,883.64Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for maintaining public safety, enforcing laws, protecting the community, responding to criminal activities, and ensuring the well-being of individuals and property within the County jurisdiction.Essential Functions:
Enforces all applicable codes, ordinances, laws, and regulations (including traffic, criminal, and civil) in order to protect life and property, prevent crime, and promote security. Patrols designated areas Patrols designated areas. Responds to calls relayed by dispatchers. Prevents/discovers commission of a crime; issues citations; pursues fleeing suspects; apprehends, arrests, and processes criminals, fugitives, and offenders; conducts searches of suspects or arrestees. Conducts preliminary investigations of complaints or incidents; interviews victims, complainants and witnesses and records statements. Performs rescue functions at accidents, emergencies, and disasters. Enforces vehicle operating laws, parking laws, and DUI laws; conducts field sobriety tests; uses visual observation and radar/laser speed detection units to enforce speed laws.Requirements:
Possess a high school diploma or GED. ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer Scores are required if no college degree has been obtained. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Must be a United States Citizen or have a Naturalization Certification. Must have an honorable or uncharacterized discharge from the military (if applicable). Must obtain a GA POST Certification within 12 months of employment (if not already certified). Pass the Physical Ability Test (PAT) before employment. Non-certified applicants must pass theGA POST PAT
within 30 days of starting the academy. Pass a psychological evaluation, physical exam, and drug screening before employment. No felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude, domestic violence, or related offenses. Must be at least 21 years old (upon completion of the academy).https:
