Full Time Heyburn, ID Heyburn Police Department Nestled along the Snake River and Interstate 84, the City of Heyburn is home to more than 3,000 citizens within its incorporated city limits. Within a few miles neighboring cities lie with big box stores, but Heyburn has kept its quiet residential charm. As a growing community in the Mini-Cassia area, there are affordable housing opportunities, an elementary school within the city limits and two community hospitals within 15 minutes. Heyburn is close to several recreation type activities including motocross, golf, ATV riding, hiking, fishing, hunting, boating, horse events, camping and many more. With an interstate and two state highways running through town, many enjoy being able to travel to Boise or Salt Lake for the "big city" experience but return home to Heyburn and the Mini-Cassia area. Heyburn is a growing police department that since 2022 is focused on innovation and developing a working partnership with our community, which we strive to continually improve. The Heyburn Police Department is currently allotted 8 commissioned police officers who provide 24-hour coverage to our community. There is one current vacancy and with an upcoming retirement, we will have an additional vacancy in fall 2026.

REQUIREMENTS

At least 21 years of age Minimum of a High School diploma or GED Must be able to complete POST physical agility requirements Must have a clean background and pass extensive background check Pass employment-based polygraph, drug testing and psychological exam
