Position Details The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners for the City of Country Club Hills is now accepting applications for the position of Entry Level Law Enforcement.

Testing is being conducted for anticipated hiring needs and to establish a new eligibility list.

The prime function of the Country Club Hills Police Department is the preservation of public peace and order, prevention and detection of crime, apprehension of offenders and protection of person and property. The responsibilities of the Department are to uphold the Constitution of the United States, enforce the laws of the State of Illinois and ordinances of the City of Country Club Hills.

You must meet the following minimum requirements:

Citizenship:

Must be a citizen of the United States or an individual who has permanent resident status and is legally authorized to work in the United States. Must, under federal law, be authorized to obtain, carry, purchase or otherwise possess a firearm.

Driver's License:

Must possess a valid Driver's License at the time of application with the ability to obtain an Illinois Driver's License upon time of hire.

Age Requirement:

Applicant must have attained their 21st birthday at the last date for filing application (10/18/2026). Applicants must be under the age of 35 at the last date for filing application (10/18/2026) unless exempt by State Statue IL 5/10-2.1-6, which provides in part that the age limitation does not apply to any person previously employed as a Certified (full-time) Law Enforcement Officer for a municipality in the United States.

Education:

Must have proof of High School Diploma, GED Certificate or High School Proficiency Statement.

Residence:

There are no residency requirements currently.

Candidate Preparation Manuals

Includes detailed recommendations on important concepts, such as the most effective test-taking strategies and methods, specific information about CPS HR test forms, and what to expect on the day of the test administration. Also includes several practice questions covering each section of the test, along with helpful tools, like a sample answer sheet and template test instructions for candidates to prepare before the day of the test.

Practice Tests

Simulates full-length versions of CPS HR tests and have been designed to replicate the look and feel of test-day material. Contains practice items across the same sections contained in our test forms. When candidates have completed the online practice exam, they will receive a breakdown of their scores by section. (Candidates will not receive a list of the questions and answers.) In addition, candidates can re-take the exam one additional time at no cost.
