Job Summary Come join our dedicated law enforcement team as a Police Officer at The Pratt Police Department, where you will play a vital role in maintaining public safety, enforcing laws, and serving the community with integrity and professionalism. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to engage in criminal investigations, traffic enforcement, and community outreach while utilizing your skills in law enforcement procedures and emergency response. As a Police Officer, you will be a key protector of citizens and property, ensuring a safe environment for all. Our population is approximately 6800 citizens, plus we do have a two year community college. Experienced Certified Officers wanted but we are willing to train the right candidate. Duties Enforce local, state, and federal laws, ordinances, and traffic regulations to promote safety and order within the community. Conduct patrols, maintaining visibility and responsiveness to incidents or emergencies. Respond promptly to calls for service, including accidents, disturbances, or criminal activity. Investigate crimes by gathering evidence, conducting searches and seizures in accordance with evidence law and criminal procedure. Prepare detailed reports on incidents, arrests, investigations, and other law enforcement activities with clear documentation. Manage arrest procedures while adhering to proper use of force protocols and conflict management techniques. Engage in surveillance activities for criminal investigations or security purposes; utilize firearms handling skills responsibly during enforcement actions. Educate the community on safety practices, local ordinances, and loss prevention strategies to foster trust and cooperation.

Minimum Qualifications Education:

High school diploma or GED 21 years of age or older Valid driver's license Ability to pass a criminal background check Ability to communicate proficiently Ability to pass a drug screen Basic computer skills for transmitting data to police and to complete reports Ability to meet environmental and physical demands of the position Automatic disqualifiers

Criminal History Felonies:

Any felony conviction

Misdemeanors:

Violent crimes, sexual misconduct, crimes involving moral turpitude Domestic violence: any conviction

Drug and Substance Abuse Sales/Distribution:

Any involvement in sales or manufacturing of illegal drugs

Recent Use:
