PRIMARY DUTIES

: Working with other team members, conduct routine and advanced white-collar investigations of matters relating to cash, food, and health assistance fraud, and fraud in the administration of the these programs. Locate, collect, analyze, and preserve evidence, which largely consists of cash, food, and health assistance claims and payment documentation. Develop and prepare accurate detailed reports of investigative findings with recommendations, and appropriate justification, for civil, criminal, or administrative action. Conduct interviews and prepare reports on information gathered from potential witnesses and suspects. Procure, analyze, and interpret computerized data, financial records, medical records, investigative records, legal documents, federal and state laws, regulations, policies and other material in the pursuit of evidence of fraud, waste, abuse, and other illegal acts involving the cash, food, and health assistance programs. Testify as a witness in administrative or court proceedings resulting from investigations. Coordinate investigations, also working with appropriate state and federal agencies, including the state Medicaid agency, the United States Attorneys Office, state and federal investigative agencies, district and county attorneys, and local law enforcement agencies. Prepare, coordinate, and execute search warrants, including acting as the affiant in search warrant proceedings, as necessary. Perform tasks related to apprehension, arrest, and booking of suspects. TRAVEL Some travel within Kansas for hearings, trials, and prosecution-related duties will be required. Occasional out-of-state travel for training may be required. A valid drivers license is required when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State. Licensing & Certification Currently or previously certified as a commissioned law enforcement officer in Kansas or in another state. To be certified by the Kansas Commission on Peace Officers' Standards and Training (KS- CPOST ) this includes, among other requirements, that the candidate must: be a United States citizen and at least 21 years of age have graduated from a high school accredited by the Kansas state board of education or the appropriate accrediting agency of another state jurisdiction or have obtained the equivalent of a high school education as defined by rules and regulations of the Commission be of good moral character sufficient to warrant the public trust in the applicant as a police officer or law enforcement officer not have been convicted of a crime that would constitute a felony under the laws of the state, a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence or a misdemeanor offense that the Commission determines reflects on the honesty, trustworthiness, integrity or competence of the applicant as define by rules and regulations of the Commission As used in this section, conviction includes rendering of judgment by a military court martial pursuant to the uniform code of military justice, by a court of the United States or by a court of competent jurisdiction in any state, whether or not expunged; and any diversion agreement entered into for a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence and any diversion agreement entered into on or after July 1, 1995, for a felony.
