Under the general supervision of the Director of Public Safety, works with the Police Department to increase crime prevention efforts, strengthen community relations, and improve communication between the Police Department, neighborhood associations, city residents, business owners, workers, and visitors. This person also serves as the Police Department's Grants Administrator. Bachelor's degree required; or equivalent experience in criminal justice, human services, business management, marketing/communications, or a related field. Three or more years of experience in grant management, criminal justice, public administration, business management, communications, local government, or a related field. A valid Michigan driver's license is required. This role is with the City of Muskegon. While performing the duties of this job, the employee's environment is typically an office setting, but can potentially involve work off-site and outdoors at events.
