Job Description

Job Summary The Police Officer plays a critical role in maintaining public safety and enforcing laws within the community. This position requires a dedicated individual who is committed to serving and protecting citizens while upholding the law with integrity and professionalism. Officers are responsible for patrolling assigned areas, responding to emergency calls, conducting investigations, and engaging with the community to foster trust and cooperation. Duties Shift supervisor Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity. Respond promptly to emergency calls and incidents. Conduct thorough investigations, including gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. Write detailed reports documenting incidents, arrests, and other relevant information. Enforce traffic laws and regulations, including issuing citations as necessary. Manage conflicts effectively to ensure public safety and resolve disputes. Provide first aid and CPR as needed in emergency situations. Handle animals safely when required during incidents or rescues. Utilize surveillance techniques to monitor activities in high-crime areas. Collaborate with community members to build relationships and promote crime prevention initiatives. Stay informed about local laws, immigration law, and departmental policies. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in criminal justice is preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Certification in first aid and CPR is desirable. Strong conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations. Experience or training in animal handling is a plus. Demonstrated leadership abilities within a team environment. Familiarity with report writing standards and practices. Knowledge of surveillance techniques is beneficial. Must pass background checks and meet physical fitness requirements as established by the department.
