  Job Description Join our professional law enforcement team The Ronan Police Department seeks qualified, experienced candidates dedicated to serving ourmunity with integrity and excellence. Duties and Responsibilities
• Protects life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances.
• Patrols assigned areas.
• Responds to calls for police service.
• Conducts preliminary and follow-up criminal and traffic investigations.
• Conduct interviews.
• Prepares written reports and field notes of investigations and patrol activities.
• Apprehend criminals and testify in court.
• Work requires extensive contact with outside agencies and the public. Minimum Qualifications
• High school graduate or equivalent (GED), college or military preferred
• United States citizen or naturalized citizen
• Age 21 or older
• Currently possesses or can obtain a valid MT Driver's License
• Vision at or corrected to 20/20
• Must be of good moral character and background
• No felony convictions in federal or state courts
• No misdemeanor convictions apart from minor traffic offenses.
• Must be able to successfully pass the Montana Physical Abilities Test (MPAT), written examination (non-sworn hires only), an oral interview, pre-employment drug test, a pre-employment physical, pre-employment psychological examination, an extensive background investigation, and a Federal and State criminal history background check.
• Mustplete Basic Montana Law Enforcement Academy Course or Montana Law Enforcement Academy (MLEA) Equivalency Course and Field Training program within one (1) year of hire date Lateral Position Montana POST certified or, as an out-of-state officer, must meet qualifications established by the Montana POST Council to obtain certification through legal equivalency testing and training within the first year of employment.

Lateral Police Officer Starting Salary Lateral transfer police officers can receive credit for previous years of service. Pay rate established based onparable wages/experience. Benefits Vacation

The department currently utilizes Axon Body 4 and Axon Fleet 3 in-car video systems. Take-home vehicle benefit provided, subject to residence within the designated approved driving radius.
