Job Description

General Requirements:
Candidates at the time of application must: Possess high school diploma or a graduate equivalency diploma (GED). Must be PA Act 120 certified or eligible to be PA Act 120 certified prior to appointment. Be a United States Citizen. Be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a police officer. Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age. Have a valid PA driver's license. Must be able to successfully pass a background examination.
RESIDENCY IS NOT REQUIRED.
An application packet may be obtained at the City of Duquesne Police Department, located at 12 South Second Street, Duquesne, PA 15110 or you may request an electronic copy via email. There is no application fee, but the completed application must be filed before 4:00 PM on Thursday, August 20th, 2026 either electronically at police@duquesnepa.us or in person at the City of Duquesne Police Department. Applications can be requested via email or by phone. A physical agility test will be conducted at the City of Duquesne Police Department located at 12 South Second Street, Duquesne, PA 15110 on Friday, August 21st, 2026 starting at 10:00 AM. The written examination and oral interviews will immediately follow. The City of Duquesne is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
