Job Overview Williamston Police Department is seeking a SC Certified Class 1 police officer. The Police Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining public safety and enforcing the law within the community. This position requires a dedicated individual who is committed to protecting life and property, preventing crime, and upholding the law with integrity and professionalism. Police Officers are expected to engage with the community, respond to emergencies, conduct investigations, and collaborate with other law enforcement agencies. Responsibilities Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity. Respond promptly to calls for service, emergencies, and incidents. Conduct thorough investigations of crimes, including gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. Enforce traffic laws and regulations to ensure public safety. Prepare detailed reports on incidents, arrests, and investigations. Collaborate with community members to foster trust and cooperation. Provide first aid and CPR when necessary in emergency situations. Maintain knowledge of current laws, regulations, and procedures related to law enforcement. Participate in training programs to enhance skills in surveillance, criminal investigation, and leadership. Experience Candidates should possess a strong background in law enforcement or related fields.
