Clarificion from the agency - Current Members of the South Dakota Air Nional Guard Duties Help As a POLICE OFFICER, GS-0083-6, you will: This position is loced in an Air Nional Guard Wing, Mission Support Group, Security Forces Squadron. The primary purpose of this position is to protect Federal property from hazards such as sabotage, espionage, trespass, theft, fire, and accident or willful damage and destruction. To maintain law and order, preserve the peace, and protect life and civil rights within the jurisdiction of the military installion. Requirements Help Conditions of employment Nional Guard Membership is required. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigion. May be required to successfully complete a trial period. Participion in direct deposit is mandory. Qualificions
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED
This is an excepted service position th requires membership in a compible military assignment in the Nional Guard. Selectee required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT
Selected individual must be assigned to a compible military position in the following AFSC upon de of hire:
AFSC 3P0X1.
The AFSC(s) require an aptitude of G33 and a physical profile of K222121. Aptitude scores can be checked on the vMPF or the Customer Service in the Force Support Squadron and physical profile in the medical squadron. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. The military grade of the full time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE
: A Nional Guard Title 32 Dual Stus applicant must have a valided understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupional series and grade. For entry appointment to the GS-06 position, the applicant requires the completion of high school or general educional development equivalency; along with the successful completion of an equivalent military security or police training course.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
: Should have knowledge of practical security force (SF) activities in direct support of the military weapon systems and physical security; law and order; or area security operions. May have work experiences in law enforcement, maintaining law and order, preserving the peace, and protecting life and civil rights within the jurisdiction of civilian/public areas or military installions. May have experiences in protecting federal property from hazards such as sabotage, espionage, trespass, theft, fire, and accident or willful damage and destruction. May have experiences in responding to disaster and relief operions and participes in contingencies. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separe sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they rele to work experience, educion or training. Knowledge of law enforcement, maintaining law and order, preserving the peace, and protecting life and civil rights within the jurisdiction of military installions. Skill to use firearms in emergency situions.
