Patrols university property, in a vehicle or on foot, to provide security and traffic law enforcement. Handles public assistance calls, such as assisting motorists, investigating traffic collisions, directing traffic, resolving personal disputes, keeping the peace, and other requests of the public. Arrests violators of the law and issues citations. Records activity by way of first and supplementary reports, and other required forms. Conducts formal investigations of criminal activity. Performs public relations activities as required to satisfy public inquiry. Testifies in court of law and at other formal hearings as well as attends a minimum of forty hours of sanctioned training each year to maintain Utah Peace Officer Certification. graduate. Applicant must be currently Certified Law Enforcement Officer or certifiable as a State of Utah Law Enforcement Officer.
