Open Until Filled Employment Opportunity The Orem Police Department is currently hiring for lateral entry Police Officers. This position is responsible for performing a wide range of routine and emergency police services including responding to calls for assistance from citizens and enforcing laws and ordinances. Qualifications Utah POST certified as Law Enforcement Officer (LEO). 2 years LEO experience. Must be able to meet physical requirements established by the Police Department. No illegal drug use and/or convictions within the last 3 years.
TESTING PROCESS
Qualified applicants will be required to complete a PT test and participate in an interview panel as scheduled by the Police Department. For the PT test, applicants will be required to complete 35 sit-ups in 1 minute, 25 push-ups, a 16" vertical jump, and a 1.5 mile run in 15:54. Pay and Benefits The current pay range for Police Officers starts at $66,776.01 annually ($32.01 hourly) with hybrid step program in which officers will move through the steps based on years of service and through positions, up to Master Police Officer, based on obtaining additional certifications and meeting established qualifications. Lateral Officers may be placed in the appropriate position and step based on years of service and qualifications met. Full benefits include health/dental insurance, life insurance, 401k, 457, LTD, and State Retirement.
