Job Description

Your role: As the Bankruptcy Specialist, you will o versee all aspects of Bankrupt Accounts and respond accordingly. You will train the Bankruptcy Processor and be the support and backup for the Bankruptcy Processor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review all bankruptcy referrals for accuracy
  • Approval of bankruptcy referrals to legal counsel
  • Follow up with legal counsel to make sure the bankruptcy referral is received in a timely manner
  • Appropriately address any cases that are not referred to legal counsel directly with the court.
  • Communication with debtors within the allowed scope of the bankruptcy
  • Responsible for decisions and instructions to legal counsel and Bankruptcy Processor with regards to motions, orders, lifts of stay, discharge, dismissals any other bankruptcy correspondence.
  • Responsible for reviewing and taking appropriate action on all bankruptcy correspondence
  • Review and reconcile bankrupt accounts for appropriate and timely payments
  • Review and audit bankruptcy reports and take appropriate actions.
  • Review system data entry to the core to ensure the collection system is correct and the bankruptcy credit reporting is accurately flagged-Attend any hearings as needed
  • Train Bankruptcy Processor
  • If appropriate, advise the Repossession Specialist with regards to motions, orders, lifts of stay, discharge, or dismissals
  • Assist the Bankruptcy and Recovery Manager and other team members as needed
Experience:
Must be knowledgeable of collection and bankruptcy laws. Minimum of 1-3 years of bankruptcy operations experience (debtor or creditor); prior bankruptcy law experience is preferred.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. College degree preferred. Why Join Us?
