Criminal Defense Attorney James Law Firm - Little Rock, Arkansas Full-Time About James Law Firm James Law Firm is an established Little Rock law firm with a busy criminal defense practice representing clients throughout Arkansas. We are seeking an attorney to join our team and take an active role in representing clients in criminal matters ranging from misdemeanors to serious felony cases. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys being in the courtroom, wants meaningful responsibility for cases, and values having an experienced team and established support system behind them. Our ideal candidate has criminal law or significant courtroom experience and is capable of developing into an important long-term member of our firm. What You'll Do As a Criminal Defense Attorney with James Law Firm, you will be responsible for managing an active caseload while working closely with our attorneys and support staff.

Responsibilities include:

Represent clients in misdemeanor and felony criminal matters Appear in district and circuit courts throughout Arkansas Review discovery, police reports, video evidence, witness statements, and other case materials Develop case strategy and identify legal and factual issues Draft, file, and argue motions Negotiate with prosecutors and communicate plea offers to clients Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings and trial Conduct hearings, motions, and trials Maintain regular and professional communication with clients Manage court dates, deadlines, and case responsibilities Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants Maintain accurate and timely case information within the firm's case-management systems What We're Looking For Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school Licensed and in good standing with the Arkansas Bar Courtroom or litigation experience Strong written and oral advocacy skills Sound judgment and ability to independently manage cases Excellent client communication skills Strong organizational and time-management abilities Ability to manage a busy caseload and competing deadlines Professional, dependable, and comfortable working as part of a team Criminal defense experience is preferred but not required. Attorneys with experience as a public defender, prosecutor, or in another litigation-heavy practice are strongly encouraged to apply. Why Join James Law Firm?
