Description:
The Opportunity:
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced civil litigator who wants meaningful case responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to build a long-term practice within a highly specialized and established law firm. The position is primarily litigation focused. The successful candidate will manage HOA-related civil litigation matters from inception through resolution, with the support of an experienced legal team. Because we are a boutique firm, our attorneys also have the opportunity to develop broader experience advising HOA boards and community managers and assisting with occasional general counsel matters. Prior HOA experience is strongly preferred but not required. We welcome experienced litigators from complementary practice areas who are interested in developing expertise in community association law.
Responsibilities:
Independently manage an active civil litigation caseload from inception through resolution. Handle pleadings, discovery, depositions, law and motion, mediation, arbitration, settlement negotiations, trial preparation, and trial. Appear at court hearings, case management conferences, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. Develop litigation strategy and advise HOA boards of directors and community managers regarding disputes, risk, and potential resolution. Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal opinions, correspondence, discovery, and settlement agreements. Work directly with clients and opposing counsel to efficiently advance and resolve matters. Assist with limited general counsel matters, including contract review, governing document interpretation, and day-to-day legal advice as needed. Collaborate with shareholders, attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants while maintaining primary responsibility for assigned matters.
