$27.00 - $35.00 per hour Job Description Yerushalmi Law Firm is seeking an experienced Lien Negotiator to join our growing personal injury team. This full-time position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, confident in negotiation, and committed to helping clients maximize their settlement recovery. The Lien Negotiator will manage the post-settlement lien resolution process, working directly with clients, medical providers, lienholders, attorneys, and internal departments to negotiate reductions, resolve outstanding balances, and ensure accurate and timely disbursement. Responsibilities Manage assigned cases from settlement through final disbursement and closure. Serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding liens, settlement proceeds, and the disbursement process. Review case files to identify and verify outstanding medical liens, bills, and case costs. Develop strategies to resolve liens while maximizing the client's net settlement recovery. Negotiate lien reductions directly with medical providers, lienholders, and third-party payers. Request current balances, verify charges, and resolve billing discrepancies. Maintain detailed records of lien negotiations, agreements, and outstanding items. Prepare accurate disbursement spreadsheets showing fees, costs, liens, reductions, and client proceeds. Prepare and review closing documents, settlement statements, and disbursement statements. Coordinate provider payments and client settlement checks. Follow up consistently with clients, providers, lienholders, and internal departments. Maintain accurate and complete lien and disbursement records in Filevine. Provide guidance and support to Lien Negotiator Assistants as needed. Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and firm policies. Follow workplace safety and cybersecurity policies. Qualifications 2-4 years of experience, preferably with at least 2 years specifically handling personal injury liens, medical billing, settlement disbursements, or lien negotiation. Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills. Understanding of medical liens, settlement disbursements, and personal injury settlements. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Able to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and negotiations. Strong spreadsheet and mathematical skills. Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned cases. Professional and empathetic approach to sensitive client matters. Filevine or other case management software experience is a plus. Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
