Job Description
We are looking for a motivated Attorney/Lawyer to join a family law practice in Los Banos, California. This role offers the opportunity to manage a broad range of domestic relations matters while guiding clients through complex and often emotional legal issues. The attorney will work on cases from intake through resolution and serve as a trusted advocate in negotiations, hearings, and court proceedings.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee a full family law caseload involving divorce, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, parentage matters, and restraining order proceedings.
- Represent clients in hearings, settlement discussions, and trials in Merced County and other nearby Central Valley courts.
- Prepare and file pleadings, declarations, motions, emergency requests, and discovery materials with accuracy and attention to deadlines.
- Review financial records, tax documents, and asset information to assess support issues and property characterization questions.
- Advise clients on legal strategy, likely outcomes, and practical next steps during each stage of the case.
- Support clients through mediation-related matters and follow-up proceedings connected to custody and visitation disputes.
- Calculate guideline child and spousal support using Dissomaster or comparable legal support software.
- Handle additional legal assignments and case-related projects as needed to support the practice.
