Estate Attorney - Estate Planning, Trust Administration & Probate Build a Meaningful Career—and Help Grow a Law Firm Codi M. Dada Law Office, P.C. is a growing estate planning and probate firm serving individuals and families throughout Marin County, Sonoma County, and the greater Bay Area. We are seeking a motivated, hardworking, and growth-oriented Estate Attorney who wants more than a traditional legal position. This is an opportunity to develop substantial experience in estate planning, trust administration, and probate while building toward the management of an additional office location. Our long-term objective is to train the right Estate Attorney to independently operate a dedicated office location and share in the profits generated by that office. We want someone who is excited to develop professionally, serve clients in a meaningful way, earn a high income, and grow with the firm. ResponsibilitiesEstate Planning Meet with clients to understand their family, financial, and estate-planning goals. Prepare and review revocable living trusts, wills, durable powers of attorney, advance health care directives, certifications of trust, deeds, and related documents. Draft trust amendments, restatements, and customized distribution provisions. Advise clients regarding trust funding, beneficiary designations, incapacity planning, and probate avoidance. Assist with special needs trusts, premarital agreements, business succession planning, and related matters. Conduct signing appointments and explain legal documents in clear, understandable language. Trust Administration Advise successor trustees following a death or incapacity. Review trust instruments and identify beneficiaries, required notices, distribution provisions, and administrative deadlines. Prepare trustee notices, certifications of trust, notices of proposed action, accountings, receipts, releases, and distribution documents. Assist trustees with identifying and valuing assets, addressing creditor claims, paying expenses, establishing reserves, and completing distributions. Address trustee compensation, beneficiary concerns, real-property matters, tax coordination, and potential trust disputes. Communicate professionally and compassionately with trustees, beneficiaries, financial institutions, accountants, and other advisors. Probate Administration Handle probate matters from the initial petition through final distribution and discharge. Prepare petitions for probate, notices, waivers, inventories and appraisals, creditor-related documents, status reports, petitions for final distribution, and proposed orders. Appear at probate hearings and respond to court examiner notes. Advise personal representatives regarding estate accounts, property sales, creditor claims, beneficiary distributions, and fiduciary responsibilities. Assist with contested or unusual matters involving lost wills, omitted trust assets, property disputes, and petitions to determine ownership of trust or estate property. Coordinate with courts, probate referees, title companies, real estate professionals, accountants, and other professionals. Leadership and Office Development Build strong relationships with clients and professional referral sources. Help improve the firm's systems, templates, workflows, and client experience. Participate in educational and marketing activities, including seminars, videos, podcasts, and community outreach. Develop the leadership, business, and management skills needed to operate an additional firm location. Gradually assume responsibility for client matters, staff supervision, office performance, and business development. Qualifications The ideal candidate is intelligent, dependable, ambitious, and genuinely interested in helping people through some of the most important and difficult moments of their lives.
Applicants should have:
Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California. A genuine interest in estate planning, trust administration, probate, and fiduciary law. Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability. The ability to manage multiple matters, deadlines, and client expectations. Strong interpersonal skills and confidence communicating directly with clients. The ability to explain complicated legal concepts in plain English. A professional, compassionate, ethical, and responsive approach to client service. A strong work ethic and willingness to accept feedback and continue improving. An interest in business development, leadership, and law-office management. An entrepreneurial mindset balanced with sound professional judgment. Prior estate planning, trust administration, or probate experience is preferred. However, we are willing to train an exceptional California attorney who demonstrates strong judgment, initiative, writing ability, and a serious commitment to this practice area. $120,000.00 - $210,000.00 per year
