Manage a variety of commercial agreements, including vendor, supply, technology, marketing, and confidentiality agreements. Maintain contract templates, playbooks, and tracking processes for key obligations and renewals. Business Partnership & Risk Management Advise internal stakeholders on legal and business risks, escalating complex issues as needed. Support a broad range of legal matters, including real estate, compliance, governance, privacy, and employment. Assist with insurance program administration and outside counsel management. Ensure compliance with company policies and support additional legal projects as needed. Qualifications J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school. 5+ years of legal experience with significant commercial contracting expertise. Active California Bar membership (or ability to promptly register as California in-house counsel). Experience supporting development, construction, land use, energy, utilities, or commercial real estate matters. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Experience with California land use, development, and construction matters. Background supporting energy, retail, QSR, fuel, or other site-intensive businesses. Experience across multiple practice areas, including development, construction, energy, utilities, and commercial real estate. Experience in a high-growth or venture-backed company. Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM) or matter management systems.
