2996439239-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Global Medical Response seeks a Legal Counsel, Insured Litigation to manage and resolve insured claims and litigation across its nationwide healthcare and emergency response operations. In this role, you will handle a caseload involving personal injury, medical transportation, and related healthcare matters, overseeing strategy from initial claim through resolution. You will evaluate risk, advise internal stakeholders, manage outside counsel, draft and review pleadings, discovery, and settlement agreements, and support compliance with applicable healthcare and insurance regulations. You will collaborate closely with operations, risk management, and clinical teams in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment focused on patient care and safety. The ideal candidate brings strong litigation skills, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly to non-lawyers. Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of insured litigation and claims from intake through resolution Develop and execute litigation strategy, including evaluation of liability and damages Draft, review, and revise pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements Direct and oversee outside counsel, ensuring cost-effective, high-quality representation Advise internal stakeholders on litigation risk, exposure, and case status Collaborate with risk management, operations, and clinical teams on incident response Support compliance with applicable healthcare, insurance, and tort laws Participate in mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation as needed Analyze claim trends and recommend risk mitigation strategies Provide clear legal guidance to non-legal leadership and staff Required Skills Civil litigation Legal research and writing Case strategy development Insurance defense Healthcare law Discovery and e-discovery Drafting pleadings and motions Negotiation and settlement Risk assessment Client counseling
