Milford, CT Job Details 1 day ago Qualifications Doctor of Law (JD) Bar Full Job Description We are seeking an experienced and business-minded attorney to serve as a key legal advisor to an independent mortgage banking company and its affiliated entities. This role will partner closely with executive leadership and business stakeholders to provide strategic legal counsel across a broad spectrum of matters, including mortgage lending and servicing, regulatory compliance, employment law, corporate governance, commercial transactions, litigation management, and risk mitigation. As an Attorney, you will: Negotiate, write, and execute agreements and contracts. Offer counsel on a variety of legal issues including employment, corporate governance, contracts, and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with executives and employees to achieve common goals. Identify and communicate legal risks and available mitigation strategies. Explain legal language in agreements, regulations and statutes. Research unique legal issues impacting the organization(s) by identifying applicable statutes, judicial decisions, and codes. Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect the company and its affiliates. Perform pre-litigation work, including conducting investigations and assembling relevant documents, to minimize risks and maximize legal rights. Provide training to company and its affiliates on substantive legal topics.

Excellent communication skills Ability to think creatively while dealing with complex, multifaceted issues Approachable and comfortable working with all levels of management and staff. Strong legal writing & research skills. Ability to multi-task & prioritize effectively. Knowledge of the mortgage industry and/or consumer financial services a plus.
Education & Experience:
Extensive working knowledge of the legal field Experience with tax, real estate and transactional matters. Litigation experience a plus A Juris Doctorate from an accredited institution Certifications and Licenses Admitted to the Bar of the State of Connecticut
