at State of Delaware in Georgetown, Delaware, United States Job Description The Criminal Division seeks a Deputy Attorney General in Sussex County to join the Misdemeanor Trial Unit (MTU). This position will represent the State of Delaware in handling a high-volume and demanding criminal caseload, with a primary focus on DUI and traffic-related offenses, as well as other misdemeanor matters as needed. The Deputy Attorney General will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating criminal cases, determining appropriate charges and case resolutions, and making plea offers on a case-by-case basis. The position requires sound judgment in deciding which cases should proceed to trial and the ability to effectively prosecute those matters in court when they are not otherwise resolved. •This is a Casual/Seasonal position, currently approved to work up to 37.5 hours per week. This is a non-pension eligible position and does not include healthcare or other benefits. Compensation is paid on an hourly basis.
