Assist attorneys with all aspects of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, alimony, and adoption proceedings. Prepare, review, and organize legal documents such as pleadings, affidavits, discovery requests, and settlement agreements. Manage case files using legal case management systems like Smokeball to maintain accurate records and facilitate efficient workflows. Interview clients, witnesses, and other parties to gather relevant information and update case statuses regularly. Coordinate court filings, schedule hearings, and communicate with courts to ensure timely submissions. Review documents for accuracy, perform proofreading and transcription tasks, and assist with document review for litigation preparation. Support project management efforts related to ongoing family law cases by tracking deadlines and maintaining organized documentation. Provide administrative support including data entry, filing, phone etiquette, and general clerical tasks to keep the office running smoothly. Proven paralegal experience within a family law practice or related legal field. Strong knowledge of family law procedures, including divorce, child custody disputes, adoption laws, and related legal processes. Proficiency in legal administrative software including Smokeball, Clio or similar case management systems; experience with document management systems is preferred. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Exceptional writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; keen proofreading abilities are essential. Effective interviewing skills to gather detailed information from clients and witnesses accurately. Strong attention to detail in document review, data entry, filing, and transcription tasks. Ability to communicate professionally via phone and email while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
