Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Criminal Defense Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have 2 + years experience beyond the Florida Bar. We are seeking experience in the public sector field. This role involves providing legal counsel, representing clients in court, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including Tribal law regulations. The Attorney will work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop effective legal strategies. Duties Represent clients in criminal matters. Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients to achieve favorable outcomes. Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy development. Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and contracts with precision. Manage a caseload efficiently while maintaining high standards of client service. Collaborate with legal administrative staff to ensure smooth office operations. Prepare for and attend court hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings.
Criminal defense law:
3 year (Required)
Research:
1 year (Required) Legal drafting: 1 year (Required) Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the state bar association and good standing. Proven experience in criminal law. Proficient in legal research tools such as Westlaw. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively for clients. Excellent legal drafting skills with attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively within a law office environment. Strong analytical skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
