This position is primarily focused on personal injury litigation but will also involve assisting with pre-litigation matters as needed. The ideal candidate will have at least three (3) years of experience as either a plaintiff-side personal injury litigation attorney or an insurance defense litigation personal injury attorney. The candidate must be capable of independently managing a their own caseload in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Experience with Filevine is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Independently manage personal injury cases from the filing of suit through trial. Draft and argue motions, pleadings, memoranda, and other court filings. Prepare and respond to written discovery. Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, corporate representatives, treating physicians, and experts. Attend and represent clients at mediations. Attend and argue hearings, case management conferences, and trial. Develop litigation strategies and evaluate liability, causation, damages, and case value. Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, litigation strategy, and settlement opportunities. Coordinate with opposing counsel, experts, witnesses, court personnel, and litigation vendors. Review medical records, bills, deposition transcripts, expert reports, and other evidence. Monitor court orders, case management deadlines, and trial-related requirements. Prepare exhibits, witness and exhibit lists, hearing materials, trial notebooks, and case summaries. Negotiate settlements and respond to settlement PFSs. Assist with pre-litigation matters, including case evaluation, demand preparation, investigation, medical-record review, and settlement negotiations. Collaborate with the firm's attorneys, paralegals, and support staff. Qualifications Active member in good standing of The Florida Bar. Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a plaintiff-side personal injury litigation attorney or insurance defense litigation attorney. Substantial experience handling civil litigation matters independently. Experience taking and defending depositions and attending hearings and mediations. Trial experience is preferred. Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills. Ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines with minimal supervision. Professional communication skills and a strong commitment to client service. Experience with Filevine is strongly preferred.
