Overview Associate Attorney - First-Party Property Defense (Jacksonville) Jacksonville, FL | On-Site Kelley Kronenberg, a premier national law firm, is growing its First-Party Property Defense team in Jacksonville and is seeking a driven Associate Attorney ready to take on a demanding, hands-on litigation docket. If you're passionate about insurance defense and want to sharpen your courtroom skills on complex, high-stakes first-party property claims, this is the place to do it—surrounded by experienced litigators in a collaborative, supportive office. In this role, you'll carry your own caseload of first-party property matters from the first filing through trial—partnering with clients and firm attorneys to shape strategy, running discovery, and advocating for clients at every stage. It's an ideal fit for a motivated litigator with first-party property experience who wants a long-term home to build a serious litigation practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage first-party property defense cases end to end, from inception through resolution. Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses, and conduct thorough legal research. Take and defend depositions, handle mediations, and represent clients at hearings and trial. Build and execute case strategy in close collaboration with partners and clients. Keep clients informed and confident through proactive communication and sound counsel. Track case law, industry trends, and legislation shaping first-party property litigation.
Requirements:
Active license to practice law in Florida and good standing with The Florida Bar. 2+ years of first-party property litigation or insurance defense experience. Sharp research, writing, and litigation skills with a strong eye for detail. A knack for managing a busy docket efficiently in a fast-moving environment.
