Litigation Attorney-Defense-Transportation Litigation Attorney - Defense (Transportation) We are an established GA law firm with a great reputation in defending our corporate clients. We are seeking someone with Auto carrier defense experience to join our growing practice in our Alpharetta office. Position Overview We are seeking a motivated Litigation Attorney to join our defense team focusing on transportation-related matters. The successful candidate will manage all phases of litigation for carrier, driver and insurer clients, including case assessment, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation and resolution. This role requires strong knowledge of auto and commercial transportation law, excellent advocacy skills, and the ability to develop practical, client-focused strategies to achieve favorable outcomes. Key Responsibilities Handle a caseload of transportation-related defense matters including auto, motor carrier, and trucking claims from intake through resolution. Conduct thorough case evaluations and develop litigation strategies aligned with client goals and risk tolerances. Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other court filings in state and federal courts. Manage discovery, including taking and defending depositions, reviewing and organizing voluminous documents, and engaging expert witnesses when necessary. Advocate for clients at hearings, mediations, arbitration, and trials, preparing witness examinations and courtroom presentations. Counsel clients (carriers, drivers, and insurers) on liability exposure, coverage issues, risk mitigation, and settlement options. Coordinate with claims examiners, adjusters, and outside vendors to manage case budgets and timelines. Maintain accurate case files, calendar critical deadlines, and communicate progress and strategy to clients and internal teams. Stay current on developments in auto, transportation, and insurance law and apply best practices to case management and client advice. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with a state bar. 3+ years of litigation experience, preferably defending transportation, trucking, or motor carrier cases. Demonstrated experience with auto liability, carrier defense, and insurance coverage issues. Proven trial and courtroom experience, including hearings, mediations, and arbitrations. Strong written and oral advocacy skills, with attention to detail in drafting pleadings and discovery. Ability to manage a complex caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines under pressure. Familiarity with discovery tools, court rules, and e-filing systems; experience with litigation management software is a plus. Client-focused mindset with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with claims teams and outside experts.
Salary:
