Moffitt Law is seeking a full-time associate attorney to join our LaGrange office. The attorney will primarily handle criminal defense cases, along with select civil litigation matters. We are open to both experienced attorneys and newly licensed attorneys—including candidates who recently passed the Georgia Bar. Prior courtroom experience is helpful, but it is not required. We are willing to train the right person who demonstrates sound judgment, a strong work ethic, and a genuine desire to become an excellent advocate. This is an opportunity to gain meaningful courtroom experience, take responsibility for cases, and develop as a trial lawyer within a growing firm. Responsibilities Represent clients in misdemeanor and felony criminal cases Handle DUI, traffic, probation, and related matters Assist with and manage select civil litigation cases Appear in municipal, state, and superior courts Review discovery and identify legal and factual issues Research and draft motions, briefs, and correspondence Negotiate with prosecutors and opposing counsel Prepare cases for hearings, motions, pleas, and trials Communicate regularly with clients about their cases Maintain organized and accurate case files Work collaboratively with attorneys and support staff Qualifications Licensed to practice law in Georgia or recently passed the Georgia Bar and awaiting admission Strong written and verbal communication skills Professional, dependable, and well organized Able to manage deadlines and multiple active cases Comfortable speaking with clients and appearing in court Willing to accept responsibility and learn through hands-on experience Demonstrates good judgment, integrity, and compassion for clients Prior criminal defense or litigation experience is preferred but not required.
