Job Description

Description Hanwha Qcells designs, builds, and manages financially sustainable solar photovoltaic (PV) solutions. The company brings a decade of global leadership in solar PV to North America, combining world-class technology, processes, and partnerships to deliver utility-grade solar PV solutions customized for the US energy market.
Please note:
This role is onsite in Cartersville, GA. SUMMARY The Legal Counsel role will be responsible for providing in-house legal advice and guidance on a wide range of corporate matters, including contracts, employment law, customs and trade law, and compliance. The Legal Counsel will assist in the resolution of disputes and manage litigation/arbitration, while reviewing and interpreting legal requirements and effectively communicating these to the business/external stakeholders. This position reports to the Sr. Legal Counsel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide legal support and guidance to the business team and management on a variety of legal issues. Manage and resolve legal disputes, including disputes with commercial parties. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Provide supervision to outside lawyers hired to assist the company with their specialized legal services. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents, including purchase agreements, sales agreements, service agreements, and lease agreements. Design, build, and improve legal team processes. Consult and protect Qcells against legal risks, penalties, and investigations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Laws (LLM), or an equivalent degree from an accredited law school. A member in good standing with a state bar association. Experience as in-house counsel or at a law firm (or a combination of both). Professional legal experience handling legal disputes such as litigation and arbitration.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of experience as in-house counsel or at a law firm (or a combination of both). Bilingual (Korean & English). Experience in the solar industry, energy sector, or manufacturing industry. Experience in managing construction disputes.
