Job Description

Summary / Objective The Production Supervisor is responsible for the direct oversight of assigned production areas. This role includes supervising associates to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, validating the quality and quantity of work performed, communicating schedules, coordinating appropriate training, addressing disciplinary matters, and managing additional responsibilities as required. The Production Supervisor also oversees physical production activities, including equipment setup and changeovers, equipment operation, product quality, timely fulfillment of production orders, and maintaining overall 5S standards within the assigned area. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental protection requirements, work instructions, and the Escalation Matrix by all employees at all times. Maintain established 5S standards and continuously improve workplace organization following the principle, "the next standard is the best standard." Ensure all quality guidelines are met and adhered to; take corrective actions as necessary to resolve quality issues (e.g., QRQC and non-conforming material processes). Monitor and ensure FOP, MOP, LOP, and hourly checks are completed accurately, on time, and properly entered in CAQ. Lead and support subordinate employees through motivation, development, qualification, and effective organization of work. Oversee the training of new employees and continuously improve the training program. Utilize the Skill Matrix to develop employees and conduct annual performance reviews. Approve timecards and ensure accurate attendance documentation in the Living Attendance system. Serve as a liaison between Quality, Logistics/Production Planning, Maintenance, and Tool & Die departments; ensure immediate communication of any deviations in accordance with the Escalation Matrix. Ensure production targets are consistently met through the following activities: Execution of the 24/48-hour checklist (1st shift responsibility). Use of KPIs to improve efficiency (OEE, SMED, PPM, etc.). Proper staff allocation across all production lines to meet schedules. Timely and standardized setup and changeover of production equipment. Completion of daily, weekly, monthly, and annual documentation and reporting (Forcam, SAP, OPL, Living Attendance, etc.). Actively participate in Morning Meetings as assigned by the Department Manager (DM). Operate production equipment as needed to support production goals. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Department Manager. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position operating in 1st shift. Standard work hours are a minimum of 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Based on production demands, overtime and weekend work may be required. Travel Travel is primarily related to training and may be local or international. Expected travel is less than 15%. Required Education and Experience Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Minimum of five years of supervisory experience in a batch fabrication or manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience supervising and training employees. Strong organizational and leadership skills. Ability to assess situations and engage support departments when necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor's degree. Experience with production equipment setup and changeover. ERP system experience (SAP preferred). Experience producing hot-stamped parts for the automotive industry.
