Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Serves as the final Technical Authority for legal interpretation, providing counsel on complex maritime statutes and international law of the sea Authorizes the formulation of legal strategies for civil and criminal proceedings and validate the execution of high-value maritime contracts Approves legal frameworks that protect organizational rights and obligations in global maritime operations Validates the legal compliance of maritime logistics and sustainment operations within the Pacific, ensuring adherence to international maritime treaties and Host Nation port regulations Authorizes the review of specialized maritime subcontracts and charters for offshore support vessels to mitigate legal risks in contested environments Provides strategic legal guidance on territorial water transits and maritime security protocols for Special Operations missions Provides leadership, guidance, and mentoring to subordinate staff
